Baingan or brinjal is also referred to as eggplant and aubergine. It is truly a fruit this is usually used as a cooked vegetable. Brinjal belongs to the circle of relatives of Solanaceae, also typically known as nightshades, and are cousins of potatoes, tomatoes, and bell peppers
